Halloween has pretty much always been my favorite holiday and time of year. Oddly enough the food isn't the primary draw for me; after all just about everything I'll eat during this season is available the rest of the year as well. The main reason I like Halloween is simply because of how it turns the profane and evil into the fun and the familiar.
I'm a bit late to the game this year as I didn't think to check for the start of the annual X-Entertainment Halloween countdown until this evening. It started on the 17th. There's no link for the countdown itself yet, so here's a link to the next best thing -- the site's homepage. The countdown is to the right of the article list. For those unfamiliar with these countdowns, here's a link to 2006's countdown.
I spent much of the day staring down a text file again. I know what I want to say but can't get it written down.
The day's random links reflect the Halloween spirit to a degree. First there's a cut scene from Conker's Bad Fur Day, an M-rated N64 title. This scene is shown after the title character dies for the first time. It introduces us to grim reaper. Meet Gregg.
The other link I ran across is a bit unexpected. It used to be potentially unfaithful women wore chastity belts. Well, the tables had to turn eventually. Here's a firm selling chastity belts for the menfolk. I can think of a few kings that would've benefited from one. Frankly, I don't think such a device would be remotely hygienic. I mean, I'd prefer to be capable of wiping after downloading the day's business.
