Today mom and I struck out to handle some more errands. We visited the pet store for litter, food and a new crate that's actually big enough for one of our cats. We also went to the pharmacy for that prescription the doctor called in yesterday. At first we were going to get two additional prescriptions refilled, but the place was swamped: it would've been over an hour's wait if we'd stayed for them.
Naturally we ate out at the family restaurant. I spent time pondering over the menu to eventually choose the Reuben again.
The remainder of my day was spent working with the program again. I added in the optimizations that I'd spotted yesterday, and the program literally runs at light speed now. I've reworked the program's code into a unit and linked the unit into a GUI setup. That was roughly my goal from the start.
I didn't get much sleep last night, thanks in part to the neighbors slamming doors at 2:30 AM. The main reason though was that I couldn't get comfortable. Tonight's sleep will probably be cut short in the morning as there's an excited toddler living below us.
It's windy out here; 50+ mph winds. Earlier I heard something go *clank* and scrape across the roof. Whoopie. I helped dad get a load in the car, and his only remark was that he didn't think to pack a comb. Heaven forbid his hair gets ruffled.
In other news it's Christmas eve, and here's to videos on the subject: Merry Christmas from Purple and Brown and AKQA.
Today's the last day for the Advent Calendar. It'll stay up after Christmas -- in fact I may never take it down.
