Today started with errands. Mom had called the doctor earlier and was hoping a fresh prescription was waiting at the pharmacy. Before we got to the pharmacy, we stopped and had lunch at the family restaurant.
I decided to order the chicken tenders appetizer despite the fact it cost more than the Reuben + fries combo. I discovered this is because this appetizer is actually a bigger meal than the sandwich. Naturally I ate everything but the fries, which came home with me for dinner.
The pharmacy didn't have a prescription in, but they did have junk food. I picked up some chocolate and a root beer for myself while mom picked up a few random things.
10 minutes after we got home, the doctor called saying he'd just called in the prescription. Tomorrow we'll strike out and collect it.
Most of my time was spent working on the program that failed yesterday. Instead of trying to get a GUI thing going, I simply focused on making the original program run faster -- and corrected a few bugs I'd noticed yesterday while looking it over. It's now running much faster than before -- it gets the same job done in about 1/5 of the time the original took. I've identified a way to speed it up yet more, but I'm out of time and energy today.
Today's link of the day is a ghostly reminder that evil doesn't pay.
Lastly, here's the Advent Calendar link again. Tomorrow being Christmas Eve, I wonder what the last link in the calendar will be...
