I spent most of my day working with Project Noise yet again. Naturally it's slowly crawling towards complete.
In other news the cardinal seen pecking at seed spilled around the bird feeder the other day has turned out to actually be a finch of some sort.
I've noticed that my pants have been looser than usual lately, so on a whim I got on the scale. I weigh 228 pounds - down from the mid 230s. Diet alone wasn't dropping the weight, but it seems the daily workout is making a difference. Even with all that Easter candy, the weight's gone down.
One of the things I ran across earlier today was a thread about atheism. It was largely summed up by the following statement: "Freewill is an illusion. We are chemical machines, no more. Isn't this realization liberating?"
My response to that is no, it isn't "liberating". No thoughts of our own, no mind, no ability to make any decision ourselves, no ability to control our lives or destiny, no opinion, no choice. I call that a prison, they called it freedom. To paraphrase James T Kirk (as I don't have the quote handy), "It's a gilded cage -- but it's still a cage".
Or to quote Myth Busters: "I reject your reality and substitute my own!"
In other news, I didn't come across any links worth posting today. So instead here's a link to a page of exercise related quotes I ran across a few days ago.
