Chip it good

Posted on September 3rd, 2011

Today was a bit of a mix of busy and quiet. One of the first things I did was get the fanfic ready to go. Once it had been checked, I uploaded it to DA and sent ED yet another submission request.

Most of the day was actually spent trying out chiptune trackers. While the one I had found was nice, the UI is clunky. There's also the problem of it having last been updated in 2007. Not exactly promising.

I found a page that offers 34 different trackers, including the one I already had. I spent the evening trying many of them out. I did download them all, but many require an emulator to run properly. I'm not familiar with some of systems required, so I've mostly ignored those. Of the ones that didn't require an emulator, several were pure ear rape. That said, one stood out among the rest. I can't find any documentation on it, but it seems straight forward enough. It sounds NICE.

Part of the day was also spent playing Terraria. I discovered that the fancy gun and gear is really worthless the way I play, so I spent most of my efforts acquiring better equipment. Or making intricate grease stains on the floors, depending on how you look at it. I seem to be having bad luck with the descents...

The link of the day is a video I posted a while back. This came to mind as it's basically a quality chiptune, and one I have on my typical playlist. It's a rendition of Winter Wrap Up.
