Yesterday was an excellent example of disaster unpreparedness. We spent from about 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM in the basement thanks to a rogue thunderstorm that was causing damage and tornadoes.
The cats finally got to see what the basement looked like, and were pretty much dismayed to find out that there was nothing particularly interesting down there.
We're going to be more prepared next time. Yesterday we pretty much worked things out as we went, which made things complicated and uncoordinated. Three examples that stand out are: no method of safely monitoring the storm without power, no spare litter tray for the cats and no backup of irreplaceable data that can be quickly taken to safety.
Needless to say, some day soon we'll be doing some shopping to correct these problems.
I spent most of yesterday trying to come up with scripts for the comic and ultimately didn't make it that far. Today I finished the scripts and drew one comic.
I was going to play Guild Wars this evening, but the rain and wind is causing too many packets to drop to make that worth the time.
The link for today is a silly little video called POP.
