I had two goals for today:
1. Figure out why fullscreen wasn't working under SDL. It previously had been. Answer: it's not as simple as it appeared. I'll need to implement a scaling system for Linux / Windows instead.
2. Get a textbox displaying system down. This is the start of another project, as the ability to display text on demand is going to be an often used feature in the game.
Both ended up being completed by the end of the day.
In other news, since I got Ultimate Mah Jongg 15 working in the Windows VM the other day I've been playing it instead of Freecell. I think it's more conductive to brainstorming than Freecell, largely due to the more idle nature of the game. It's less complicated and a lot more varied (Valuesoft tends to go overboard on tilesets and backgrounds).
Lastly, here's a site about captioned cats from behind the Iron Curtain. Note that the translations are just for fun and not remotely accurate.
