Since the water was going to be turned off between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, we all ran an errand and had McDonald's for lunch.

While I've stayed on the diet, I'm thinking I may need to alter my eating habits a bit. I've been periodically "zoning out" lately and don't really have a common cause. When I "zone out" it's like I don't have the ability to think things through and English suddenly seems like a complex foreign language. I can't really do very much more than just stare numbly. I'm wondering if I need to be more careful of calories or perhaps carbs; I may not be eating enough.

The colors of the top banner are determined via a liturgical calendar that's currently accurate up till next April. The next day that isn't an ordinary day (green) is the 29th which commemorates two martyrs and that calls for red.

Scientists have found that genes control the sexual orientation of worms. This provides ammo for those who say that homosexuality or bisexuality may well be natural for some people. Another blow for the rabid religious groups out there is that a key paper has been retracted. I love this line near the end of the article: "It is not unusual for scientists to publish papers and, if they discover evidence that challenges them, to announce they were wrong. The idea that all scientific knowledge is provisional, able to be challenged and overturned, is one thing that separates matters of science from matters of faith."
