Today did not go very well. We were gone from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We ran an errand prior to the 11:00 AM appointment we had. While we arrived on time, the docket was very behind schedule and we didn't actually see the social worker until 12:30 PM. Lots of paper signing and things being put in motion.

Most of the evening was spent trying to forget the myriad of unmentioned details from this morning.

Randomly browsing Wikipedia I ran across an amusing article. It seems that one group of Christians followed a man that claimed Christ would come back on such and such a day. I seem to remember something about no man will know the hour, thief in the night, whatever. Naturally the day came and went, resulting in a Great Disappointment. The core group of followers eventually ended up as the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Perhaps weirder is what gets the credit for a Panda baby boom.

I also found a site that lets you compare countries. This puts things in perspective; as in "there are worse places to live". There's a sister site for comparing US states. This also negates a few stereotypes: for example, Texas isn't very high on the list of trigger-happy states.
