This morning we went to the doctors to discover that they *still* hadn't received the x-rays. After some "encouragement", they collected the results while we waited. The x-rays showed only arthritis, so no infection or cancer or other joy in that department. Also, we had the doctor take a look at a rash that's been developing on my hands. It turns out to be fungus (tells you more than you ever wanted to know about my hygiene habits doesn't it?) and got a prescription for a creme for that.

We got the prescription filled and made a stop at the grocery store where we didn't by anything extra.

In the afternoon I washed my exercise equipment, as that's the only place we can think of that might be the source of the fungus. Afterward, I dumped the soapy water down a drain in that part of the basement. A huge (2+ inches across) spider climbed out of the drain when I did so; I pancaked it shortly thereafter.

In the evening Little one threw up and had the squirts. In attempting to clean him up he clawed me rather well, drawing blood. Not bad for an old declawed cat. He's already scheduled to see the vet on Thursday.

In other news the Background Service RSS feed on LiveJournal is finally showing signs of life after having been started on the 20th of last month. It's malfunctioning at the moment, so I'm attempting to reign it in. The feed for this blog malfunctioned at first too, so I kinda excepted as much.

Lastly, since the topic of fungus is already among us, here's a page with pictures of slime molds.
