The first place we looked at was nice, but we continued on to check the other place. It was huge: 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a basement and a garage. Needless to say, we applied to the latter. We had some trouble filling out the applications; we were hard pressed to come up with three people that like us at the moment.
We had breakfast at the family restaurant. I had their hot cakes and sausage. I still prefer McDonald's hot cakes best, but these were good. They were also heavy. In an ironic twist, both of my parents finished their meals completely and I had leftovers. Normally the situation is the reverse.
Everything was confirmed by shortly after lunch; the place is ours!
So now we have the key and are prepping to move. However, as we're going to break the lease here, we're going to try to be stealthy about it. We'll be using the cart we've used to bring up groceries to carry out our stuff, cleverly disguised by garbage bags.
Also, when we told the new landlord why we were leaving this abode his face was priceless. In fact, I have only seen that extreme level of dumbfounded one other time in my life -- my psychiatrist made that face during a session with me a few years ago.
I also worked on and finished the 20th comic for Background Service. I mused on another project; aside from wondering if it's even a sane project to set out on (and not coming to a conclusion) I had no time for anymore stuff today.
Today's link of the day is a physics report that is rather blunt.
Don't forsake the Advent Calendar!
