Also, I've decided to take a hiatus from the World Community Grid. I discovered that it eats about half of my RAM and makes the computer about 20°C hotter than it really needs to be. I'd like to use some of that RAM for stuff, and since I'm not leaving the computer on 24/7 anymore it's taking more than a day to process one work unit. I've reached my main goal (100,000 points), so taking a break looks rather good right now.
For an amusing link of the day, see Naming Schemes.com, a wiki about naming schemes for networks. Dad's naming scheme is "pets that passed on in upsetting manners". One of his computers is "Daisy", a cow he had back in childhood (not a milk cow so you know how that story ended). Another of his computers is "Bootsie", one of our tabby cats that died of lymphosarcoma in 2005.
