My day was spent working on various projects; notably Necros Cavern and the virtual machine. I've been having trouble with the latter, and spent a lot of time thinking about it. Effectively it was both canceled and resumed as I worked around it's problems.

One thing I did this morning was a real milestone: I managed to get a program to play a sound and *not* hang while the sound played. This means things like background music or animation with sound effects is possible now. Previously the program hanged when the sound was played.

The main event of the day was that the furnace is once again not running properly. Thus a maintenance worker stopped over and took a look at it. In the end they'll have to get a part and fix it in the morning. In the meantime it's off. Also, because of the location of the furnace my room is rather rearranged, and is likely to remain that way during the day.

While much less of my day was spent surfing the net I did stop and look up an oldie but goodie to link to at the end of this entry.
